Saloth Nhep, the last surviving brother of Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot died recently in Kampong Thom province at the age of 84.
Like many foreign journalists who worked in Cambodia I interviewed Saloth Nhep.
There were many reasons to seek him out and my motives were mixed. Like many I wanted to know how his brother, a man many described as charming and well intentioned, came to preside over the destruction of his own country and the deaths of more than 1.5 million.
